This project is completely hand drawn. Outlined in pencil and shaded with black charcoal. Charcoal sticks are tools that can bring even simple outlines to life. Charcoal offers both bold as well as timid shading opportunities.

I enjoyed being able to bring shadows to life by smearing charcoal to create the tree that I envisioned. Dark and light contrasts are what truly can bring pictures to life.
